1. Information We Collect
When you use AmiGrade, we collect:
- Account information: email address, name, and exam preferences (TEF/TCF/TEFAQ, target CLB level)
- Practice data: written responses, audio recordings during oral practice sessions, exam scores, and AI-generated feedback
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID but never your card details
- Usage data: session timestamps, practice frequency, and feature usage
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the practice and scoring service
- Track your progress and personalize recommendations
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- Respond to support inquiries
3. Service Providers
We rely on a small number of service providers who may process your data on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes described in this policy:
- Cloud hosting and database providers: run the service and store your account, practice history, and scores
- AI processing providers: generate scores and feedback, and power the conversation during oral practice — your written responses and audio are sent to them for processing
- Payment processing (Stripe): handles billing. We store your Stripe customer ID but never your card details
- Email delivery providers: send transactional messages such as account confirmation and password reset
These providers are bound by their own security and confidentiality commitments, and may process data outside your country of residence. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Audio Recordings
During oral practice sessions, your microphone audio is streamed in real time to our AI processing provider so the conversation can respond to you and your performance can be scored. Audio is not permanently stored on our servers. Transcripts of conversations may be stored to track your progress and provide feedback.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and practice history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for service improvement.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your practice data
To exercise these rights, contact us through our contact page.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
8. Children
AmiGrade is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on our website.
